Periodic Table of the Elements

The Periodic Table includes liquids, gases and metal. They often have a short form. For instance, Lithium = LI. The graph below is if course the Periodic Table. There are 89 solids, 14 liquids and gases. In total, there are exactly 112 subtances on the basic Table.
Sometimes there is a section of artificially prepared subtances as well.

Keep looking out for more cool experiments!

NAPLAN Writing Activity, Topic: Discovery

Scarlet Night

"Mor silently slithered out of the bed that she had known since the moment she was born and stole into the moonlit kitchen. Morlensieniya had been left alone when her parents and her noisy siblings had gone to get a dying hen from the farm, seventeen miles away. They did not come back. That night it was Scarlet Night. The night when all lights are switched off.

The worst bit was when her twin sister, Fredora, had mysteriously disappeared. Fred' had wanted to go with their mum ans dad, but that couldn't be arranged quick enough.

She had managed to stay alive for the six months that separated that lousy morning when her mother had kissed her goodbye and this pitiful night alone. Her family had taken everything but her, her twin, and her bed.

The night had been cold, for Mor had no blankets to keep her hands and feet warm, so it was painful to creep through the door and fetch the rotten veggies' that were slowly running out.

Wiping the blood off her unhealed wounds, Mor winced as she hunched through the cracking doorway. She was forced to hunch for when the door
was wrenched off its hinges, half the house came too.

There was a crack. Then a slightly stifled groan. Mor had no idea what was happening, but she had the faint instinct to... RRRRUUUUNNNN!!!! Mor dived out the door frame, landing rather painfully on a knife bearing thorn bush.

But that was nothing to what she saw heading right for her. The size of 10000000000 trucks glued together, the cyclone pushed its way roughly toward her, and Redkajukels, the town that was set into the ground two miles away.

Mor shrieked hysterically and shouted in her loudest voice, "Fredora!" It wasn't exactly day, but Morlensianiya didn't care, she didn't care about anything, not one little thing.

From that moment on, my friends, nobody has seen her. So, I am sending out you, Medkiand, and you, Serxgdewan. You must find her! She should be in her thirties, I think." The old professor mumbled on, placing the unique history book on a moth-eaten pew.

It had been 16 years the unnamed cyclone had hit Mor's farm house. And many people wanted to know if she was still alive.

In a dark little allay of vines and poison ivy, two professors fumbled around, wondering if their discovery mission was over. They followed a sound. The sound of a girl calling, calling for them.

The Sleek Cat

The sleek cat leaps quietly onto the rotting window-sill,
A cold wind ruffles the cats flaming fur,
Making it shiver and jump delicatly onto a torn sheet of morse code,
Which reads:
.. .- -- -.-. --- -- .. -. --. --- -- .
.-- .. - .... .-.. --- ... - . ... .- .-. .- ....

My Pet Haiku

My pet ant is clever,
He is for President
But he ought to be a cat

Why shouldn’t he be a cat? I mean, he needs more lives (cats have nine) so he doesn’t get squished (as President, he should have that right) and he also has the right to be heard.

A poem by Emily Bronte

"The winter wind is loud and wild,
Come close to me, my darling child;
Forsake thy books, and mateless play;
And, while the night is gathering gray,
We'll talk its pensive hours away;--
